Youth Worker Assistant
One (1) Year Contract, 30 hours per week

LOCATION: North West Scarborough Youth Centre

DESCRIPTION: YOUTHLINK is seeking a Youth Worker Assistant who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Centre’s youth programs. Specific responsibilities include:

Development and delivery of after-school programs, special events, Summer and March Break programs and other social and recreational programming for youth;
Help connect youth with volunteer and employment opportunities;
Work collaboratively with community organizations, faith communities and schools.
Outreach and promotion for the Centre’s programs;
Administrative duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Some post secondary education and/or related experience;
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of youth;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team;
Proven ability to participate in program development and to foster strong community connections;
Strength in communication skills, with a particular focus on conflict resolution and problem solving;
Ability to be flexible with schedule. Afternoon and evening hours are required.

ELIGIBILITY:
Must be a client/spouse or dependant adult on Ontario Works. Family must be in receipt of National Child Benefit Supplement and Ontario Child Benefit

PAY:
$12.00/hour
